Look up
A business tracks inflows and outflows…money coming in and money going out, respectively.
For me, in 2026, the amount of data inflows far outweighs the amount of outflows. I can’t keep up. I don’t even know how I’d keep up. I try working extra hard, waking up extra early and stretching the day extra late. But eventually, after a lot of “extras,” I find myself totally pooped.
The other day, on a short walk, after leaving my binky (phone) on the kitchen counter, I looked up. I saw stuff I typically miss, looking down at a small screen. There was a world of climbing and adventure and “How high could I get?” and…and on and on. I wondered. So, I stopped…and looked.
Naturally, after my walk, I had to get my camera…h-hm…phone, and snap a pic of what I saw—the source of all that wonder. I wanted to write about it, so here we are.
My brain works better when it’s wondering. I’ve always known this, staring out the big windows during Mr. Venerri’s homeroom class in middle school. Or watching things pass by, sitting in the back seat of our 1982 Mercury Colony Park station wagon on road trips when I was nine years old. I grew up happy, wondering what’s out there, what to do, where to go, how to do things, and so much more.
I looked up and felt totally inspired by the inflows. It’s time I return to more of that.
